The title is inspired by a Shirley Jackson story. The
idealized bust in the foreground (the daemon) casts its shadow into the real world,
becoming the personality of the pupil initiate. I feel this is my most
"complete" painting, in style and narrative. 1994 - actual size 24" x 24" |
